Situation: In my previous role as a project manager, we were working on a critical project with a tight deadline for a key client. Midway through the project, our lead developer unexpectedly had to take leave, which left the team short-handed and the project at risk of not meeting the deadline.

Task: As the project manager, it was my responsibility to ensure that the project stayed on track and met the client's expectations, despite the sudden change in team dynamics.

Action: I immediately took ownership of the situation by meeting with the client to explain the situation transparently and assure them that we were committed to delivering on time. I then re-evaluated our project plan and redistributed tasks among the remaining team members, including taking on some technical tasks myself to share the workload. Additionally, I facilitated daily stand-up meetings to monitor progress closely and provide support where needed.

Result: Through these actions, we were able to complete the project on schedule without compromising quality. The client was extremely satisfied with the outcome and praised our team's professionalism and resilience.
